BLD holds its fifth annual Black History Month Event and the official launch of Black Letter Law 2010 publication on Thursday 7 October 2010. The theme this year is BMEs in the Law: International Presence and Contribution and is hosted by Magic Circle law firm, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

CONFIRMED SPEAKERS
· Courtenay Griffiths QC who is very much in the news globally as the defence lawyer of the former President of Liberia, Charles Taylor at the Hague in the so-called “Blood Diamonds” trial,
· Thomas Laryea, based in Washington DC was until very recently the Assistant General Counsel at the International Monetary Fund.
· Anesta Weekes QC, a criminal law specialist who also appears before the Privy Council acting pro bono for death row appellants in the Caribbean.
· Paul Bugingo is a Partner and Director of Africa at the International law firm, Denton Wilde Sapte.
