It is the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Award time when those hard-working but poorly remunerated solicitors and barristers get some well-deserved recognition. The award ceremony now in its fourth year will be held on the 22nd of June at the Haberdashers Hall, Smithfield in London. The award ceremony is organised by the Independent Lawyer magazine and the Legal Aid Practitioners Group. Awards will be made in nine categories: Crime, sponsored by the Criminal Law Solicitors Association Immigration and Asylum, sponsored by the Law Society Social and welfare, sponsored by S A Partners Mental health, sponsored by Matrix Family, sponsored by Resolution Team of the year, sponsored by Allen and Overy Young solicitor, sponsored by the Legal Services Commission Barrister of the Year, sponsored by the General Council of the Bar Young Barrister, sponsored by NatWest Legal Centre There will also be an award for Outstanding Achievement sponsored by D G Legal. |
