News - News - Patricia Scotland is the First Female and Ethnic Minority Attorney General

On 28 June 2007, Baroness Scotland of Asthal became the first ethnic minority and the first female Attorney-General. She was the BLD Lawyer of the Month in May 2006.

One of her first priorities as Attorney General has been to produce a consultation paper containing reform proposals of the 500-year-old office to make it "fit for the 21st century".
